The BLM is working in partnership with the Nature Conservancy, the Colorado Natural Heritage Program and the Idaho Department of Fish and Game to facilitate three workshops designed around specific planning steps and based on BLM’s planning needs for priority species and habitats. The workshops will emphasize the use of existing biological information from a variety of sources, including, but not limited to: BLM databases, State Natural Heritage databases, State Comprehensive Wildlife Conservation Strategies/Plans, Conservancy Ecoregional Assessments, state big game and bird conservation strategies, and other existing habitat conservation and recovery plans. A design team, which includes members from the BLM, the Nature Conservancy, Colorado Natural Heritage Program and Idaho Department of Fish and Game, is adapting existing conservation planning methods for use in BLM Resource Management Plan steps. The purpose of this website is to provide materials that will be helpful in making the BLM Learning Network a success.
