This appendix was taken directly from the Colorado Natural Heritage Program website: http://www.cnhp.colostate.edu/heritage.html. The appendix describes the classification scheme that The Natural Heritage Network uses to track rare species and natural communities is a standardized ranking system that allows the Heritage Network members and cooperators to target the most at risk species and ecosystems for inventory, protection, research, and management.
