Details on the information requested are provided below. Please note that our primary goal is to minimize preparation time for both the Project and Audit Teams, while concurrently making the entire process an efficient exchange. Please email (to Tim Reed, HYPERLINK "mailto:treed@tnc.org" treed@tnc.org) the pre-audit information requested below two weeks prior to the Conservation Audit. Additionally, a CAP Self-Assessment should be filled out by the Project in advance of the Audit. This is a 2-hour exercise maximum, and can be completed manually using the Word form and guidance or by using the tool built into the CAP Workbook / ConPro. Include this in the email. Pre-Audit Information Requested Conservation Audits primarily consider the extent to which a project has been designed and is being managed in relationship to the CAP process, thus information is requested with respect to each of the CAP steps. Provide only documents your team uses on a regular basis no matter what the format, or how updated the material is. The ideal source for much of this information is the Conservation Project Database (ConPro) [ HYPERLINK "http://ConPro.TNC.org" http://ConPro.tnc.org ]. The table below provides examples of other documentation that can provide the desired information (w/ bold font indicating the first mention of a particular source). It is hoped that none of this information should be or needs to be created for the sake of the Conservation Audit; although if key elements such as the Project Team list/org chart are not readily available, even a rough sketch would be helpful to the Peer-Review Team during the audit. These dont have to be formal PowerPoint presentations; the Project Team is welcome to use whatever materials they normal use to present such information (e.g. CAP Workbook, etc.) to donors, partners, etc. Allow about 1-2 hours for these presentations, and another 1-3 hours for questions, clarifications, and discussion. The remainder of the on-site audit will flow from this introduction and information requests will be improvised as necessary. If you have any questions, please direct them to Tim Reed ( HYPERLINK "mailto:treed@tnc.org" treed@tnc.org).
