DESCRIPTION

This preliminary classification of terrestial ecosystems in Southeast Alaska represents an integration of the best currently available information on vegetation, landcover, landform association and wetlands. Terrestrial ecosystems are biologic communities typically found within similar physical environments and influenced by similar ecological processes. This project is a working partnership of The Nature Conservancy, Audubon Alaska, Alaska Dept. of Fish & Game and the US Forest Service.
