While receiving my B.S. in Environmental Biology and Management at UC Davis, my interests gradually shifted from ecology research as an IGERT fellow towards the importance of outreach in conservation and science. I now study science communications and public attitudes towards conservation in the Nelson Institute for Environmental Studies at UW Madison, where I have received a Doris Duke Conservation Fellowship for the 08-09 school year. My work experience includes three years of invasive species research and management and over fifty non-technical publications for newspapers, newsletters, and a book. In my free time, I cook and read incessantly, plot a sub-career in photography, and celebrate retirement from college swimming with the occasional triathlon.
