Bio

Reneé has had a passion for animals, preservation, and conservation that developed from multiple trips to zoos and parks all across the United States as a child.  She took the opportunity to act upon her passion by being involved as an intern or volunteer at the Sunset Zoo, Houston Zoo, and the Theodore Roosevelt National Park in North Dakota.  Currently, she indulges herself in volunteering and gaining knowledge about zoos and the animals that in habitat them.  Reneé is a recent honors graduate from Texas A&M University with a bachelor’s of science degree in Recreation, Parks and Tourism Sciences.  She will continue to attend A&M to work on her master’s of science degree in the Wildlife and Fisheries Sciences department with a full ride fellowship to support her graduate studies which focuses on animal behavior.  In the future, Reneé envisions being a zoo curator and continue supporting conservation organizations across the globe.

Thoughts about being a Conservation Science Intern

"I am fortunate to be a part of the TNC and the amazing work that is conducted across the globe.  I know my work here in Texas City with the Attwater’s Prairie Chickens is an important piece that is in sync with the mission of TNC.  The best part is being able to network with individuals with like minds and they have a passion for conservation like I do."
