DESCRIPTION
Third of four progress reports by Jonathan L. Atwood and colleagues describing various aspects of CAGN and CACW populations and ecology on the Palos Verdes Peninsula, Los Angeles County. This report includes plant community mapping and a brief discussion habitat distribution. For both CAGN and CACW, the report discusses (a) population size and distribution, including numbers of territories in each habitat type and civil jurisdiction; (b) reproductive success; (c) survivorship; (d) dispersal behavior and inter-year movements; (e) implications for conservation planning; and (f) recommendations for further study. For CAGN only, the report discusses (a) physical characteristics of nest sites; (b) slope aspect of nest sites; (c) frequency distribution of breeding territory size estimates; and (d) territory size measurements using various techniques.
