Coordinators: Doria Gordon / Tim Tear Format: Measures required for capital campaign projects by the Measures Business Plan – Dan Salzer Examples of the measures “report card” from the MesoAmerican Reef Project – Juan Carlos Villagran How ConPro will be used to derive reports on project measures - Dan Salzer Breakout groups to discuss: The training and support that project teams need so that they can develop a measures design, analysis, and reporting approach that will meet the Measures Business Plan requirements. What help do Efroymson coaches need to provide this support? – Doria facilitates How the Efroymson Coaches Network can help develop the capacity to deliver measures training and assistance to capital campaign projects. How would the Network gear up to deliver the training, and what other support mechanisms might also need to be developed? – Tim facilitates Abstract: This session is designed for those already familiar with developing measures and monitoring programs for both strategy effectiveness and status measure. We will discuss the measures that will be required of capital campaign projects, illustrated with specific examples of how measures were determined (from objectives and results chains) for a specific capital campaign project, and how progress on those measures are displayed through ConPro. We will then discuss what training and support project teams need so that they can develop an approach that will meet the Measures Business Plan requirements and how the Efroymson Coaches Network can help develop the organizational capacity to deliver measures training and assistance Welcome to the last session of the Rally! When I was asked to organize the last of 4 measures sessions, it seemed like a great opportunity to get some of the people who have been thinking about measures for TNC and other organizations for years to help think about how we move forward with measures through the Efroymson Network. Many of us have long thought that we need to improve the measures content and coaching within the Network to really help project teams do adaptive management. But the timing is particularly important right now because TNC is developing a Measures Business plan that will essentially require that senior managers in TNC – and, as a result, project managers – report on progress toward and impacts of developing and implementing strategies. This is the first time that TNC has really institutionalized measures within our planning process. So project managers will need support for both the CAP process and follow-through on measures. And many of you in this room will be the obvious go-to people in your region to help. While this is a TNC need because of the Business Plan, the content and delivery of a measures component will benefit from the thinking of coaches from all organizations. For this session, we have 3 brief presentations to give you some background about what will be needed from projects. But mainly we want to break into 2 groups to address 2 questions to provide guidance for the Network and to TNC about how to best proceed to accomplish our ambitious goal of getting feasible, relevant, informative measures of our strategy effectiveness. Presentations Questions Any questions before we get started? Need a note-taker in each group who would be willing to report back and whose notes will be clear enough that we can leave our guidance for the Coaches Network steergin group. 6@AKWXЂШЩЫбг! " # .
