In this presentation I introduce the work of the SCSCB Monitoring Working Group and its role in the development of the WHMSI/SCSCB Long-term Bird Monitoring project . I summarise what the project aims to achieve, outline the objectives of the workshop and the daily activities and explain how SCSCB will continue the initiative after the project.
