DESCRIPTION
In this talk, I discuss basic aspects of sampling design and parameter estimation from count data of bird populations on Caribbean islands. I introduce concepts of sampling and estimation without complex theory, mathematics or statistical notation. The more we think about data collection, the better the chances of obtaining meaningful results when conducting research and monitoring to support management decisions and actions.
