Open Position at The Nature Conservancy, Director of Climate Adaptation Policy
Increasingly, governments, businesses and communities recognize that maintaining food security, water security, and biodiversity, and reducing disaster risk to people and communities—particularly along coasts and rivers-- will require reasoned, well-thought-out responses to help people prepare for and respond to climate change. The Nature Conservancy is dramatically expanding its work in this area through an organization-wide effort to promote natural solutions through the adoption of ecosystem-based approaches to climate change adaptation.
The Director of Climate Adaptation Policy will lead the public policy component of this expanded effort. He/she will increase awareness among government officials and corporate leaders of the growing body of on-the-ground experiences and successes in using nature to mitigate the impact of climate change. The Director will work to leverage this enhanced understanding of and confidence in nature-based approaches to secure additional political and financial support for the conservation and restoration of natural ecosystems at scale and build a stronger foundation of support for addressing natural hazards and climate change.
The Nature Conservancy is welcoming applications for this exciting career opportunity through January 13.
