DESCRIPTION
Linked by geographical proximity and fundamental ecology, the Massachusetts Chapter's Islands and Southeastern Massachusetts (SEMA) landscape programs span the "Edge of Ice" portion of Massachusetts - coastal glacial moraine/outwash formations with their associated disturbance-dependent terrestrial, freshwater, and coastal communities. Planning for climate change adaptation at the scale of these functional systems promises substantial leverage and economies of scale.
