DESCRIPTION

This map shows protected areas in GAP stewardship classes 1, 2 and 3 (definitions are included on the map). The percentage of each watershed within protected areas in GAP stewardship classes 1, 2, or 3 was calculated and is shown in the inset map. In the New York portion of the basin, 96% was the highest proportion of a watershed occupied by protected areas; 39% was the highest proportion in the Ontario portion of the basin.
