Together, the Fire Learning Network, Central Oregon Partnership for Wildfire Risk Reduction and the Provincial Advisory Committee has refined this set of 8 principles to reflect federal forest management strategies that multiple stakeholders broadly agree upon. The "Principles" subcommittee got a lot of help and great feedback from members of our group that can't necessarily sign the document, but please note *this is not just for signers of the Restoration Principles* everyone is welcome to celebrate these key tenets.

Purpose of Principles: Stakeholders in Central Oregon have multiple visions for forest management. There is an accepted avenue to express our differences through traditional stakeholder – land management interactions including commenting on planned projects. However, there is not an arena to express the commonality of our visions or divergent visions of our stakeholders. The purpose of developing principles of restoration is exactly that – to define the area of agreement and explore our commonality. Where this process has occurred in other regions and on local landscapes in our region, stakeholders claim reduced controversy and state that principles were an important step towards consensus on forest management projects.
