Message from Stewardship Program

Many of Minnesota's non-industrial private landowners are assisted annually with management plans and technical advice. Foresters provide professional guidance to private landowners in the management of their resource for multiple-use benefits. Services provided include advice on tree planting, timber stand improvement, harvesting and marketing, and preparing management plans.

The Forest Stewardship Program provides voluntary, long-range conservation planning assistance for individual landowners. A Forest Stewardship Plan is a management plan for a forest or woodlands designed to give landowners the information they need to make management decisions to meet their needs in an ecologically sound manner.
