Message from Stewardship Program

The goal of the Forest Stewardship Program in Mississippi is to empower the forest landowners to make more informed and educated decisions about their forest resources. To that end, the Forest Stewardship Program in Mississippi is rebuilding from the ground up. It is the intention of the Mississippi Forestry Commission to provide the very best program possible to the landowners of the state of Mississippi.

  • Total forested acres= 18,586,800
  • Privately owned=13,322,300 acres
  • Industry=3,314,100 acres
  • Government=1,950,400 acres
