Where available, cartographic map documents have been saved as Adobe Acrobat pdf files. Click the link under "map document" to open or download the map document to your hard drive. Although the pdf maps may appear fuzzy on your screen, they should print clearly. Pdf maps may also be inserted into powerpoint presentations by cutting and pasting from the pdf document.
Many of the GIS data layers in this workspace are formatted for quick reference using the Google Earth viewer. After installing Google Earth, click the link under "view GIS data" to open the chosen GIS file.
Some data are provided in ESRI personal geodatabase, shapefile, or grid format. These are suitable for use and analysis with ArcGIS. Data may also be provided as ArcReader (.pmf) documents which will allow users to view and navigate through the spatial dataset without ArcGIS software (requires free ArcReader viewer available from ESRI) Geoprocessing models may also be available. Click the link under "download data" to retrieve any of these types of files.
