There is no habitat or ecosystem that will go untouched by Earth's changing climate. Freshwater ecosystems and the biodiversity they support will likely be particularly hard hit by more extreme climate change as these systems are often the first to feel variation in precipitation patterns. Presenters will discuss the impacts of climate change on freshwater ecosystems, how to adapt to climate change, and conservation opportunities arising as a result of this crisis. Speakers include Allison Aldous (TNC) and Chris Konrad (USGS-IPA) - impacts on surface and groundwater; Martha Schumann (TNC) or Adrian Ogelsby (TNC) and David Braun (TNC) or Adam Whelchel (TNC) and David Van Luven (TNC) - impacts in arid and moist regions; and John Matthews (WWF US) and Bart Wickel (WWF US) - opportunities for freshwater conservation at various scales.
